Thirty friends are looking for sponsors for their charity football match in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.

The game will kick off at Kingsnorth Football Ground (formerly Homelands) at 1pm on Saturday, July 2.

Adam Heustice, 27, from Repton Park, is one of the players and organisers hoping to raise as much cash as possible for Cancer Research UK.

Mr Heustice, who recently lost his dad Terry to cancer, said the fundraising game is for everyone who has been affected by the disease.

He said: “We’re just a group of friends trying to raise as much as we can. The game is for everyone who has lost someone.”

There will be a barbecue and drinks at The Riverside Inn in Torrington Road, South Ashford, after the match.
