Some 70 people attended a picnic celebration at South Ashford Baptist Church to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Children enjoyed the various party games, crafts and activities at the Brookfield Road church, even making their own crowns.

Mayor of Ashford George Koowaree was among the guests.

The church’s Julia Finnis said: “There were loads of people there that we didn’t know, which is what we wanted.

“It was a brilliant day – slight shame about the weather, but it was a nice opportunity for people to get together.”
