KENNINGTON’S TOURNAMENT SUCCESS

FOOTBALL:

Kennington Juniors entered two under-12 teams in the Barming FC tournament and both acquitted themselves admirably.

The teams (pictured) were named as colours, with the Ambers being narrowly eliminated in the semifinals after a penalty shoot out.

The Black team however went further and won the competition outright by defeating the host club 1-0 in a close-fought final.

The club’s success was made all the more impressive because the players were participating in an age group with under-13 teams.

Coaches Tim Hanley and Kevin Ruane were delighted with the performance of all the boys as their preparations for Kent Youth League football at under-13 level in September gain momentum.
