Hop in the pool and take on giant obstacle course
Wibit inflatable arrives at Stour Centre in time for summer
kentishexpress@thekmgroup.co.uk A huge inflatable obstacle course arrives in Ashford tomorrow – just in time for the summer.
The Stour Centre’s new Wibit inflatable stretches almost the entire length of the Tannery Lane venue’s 25-metre main pool, where swimmers can navigate their way through the obstacle course before sliding into the water once they’ve reached the finishing line.
The new attraction made its first appearance for the public at the pool last Saturday.
Rachel Foad, the Stour Centre’s programme manager, said: “It is important we continue to provide new and innovative services and products to our customers. The Wibit certainly is that, with no other centre in the UK offering a roundabout combination on their aquatic track.
“We wanted to provide an activity that parents can enjoy with their children which will give them the motivation to improve their swimming ability and boost their confidence.”
Wibit sessions last for 45 min- utes and will run every Saturday at 2pm and 3pm, with additional sessions scheduled for the school summer holidays.
Each session costs £5.50 for children and £7.15 for adults, with a reduced adult rate of £3.50 and child rate of £2.75 for Stour Centre members.
The inflatable is also available to hire for birthday parties and private events.
Swimmers must be aged six or older and between 1.1m and 1.9m in height.
They must be able to swim 25 metres unaided and may be required to demonstrate their competence via a pool test before the session starts.
It is possible to book on the day, but advance booking is advisable to avoid disappointment as spaces are limited.
