Call for MP to go after losing the fight to remain

Ukip has called for Ashford MP Damian Green to “consider his position” after backing the losing side in the EU Referendum.

Mr Green was a prominent campaigner for the Remain side in the run-up to last Thursday’s vote.

At a meeting of local Ukip members in Kingsnorth on Saturday evening, former Ukip candidate, Gerald O’Brien, thanked the 41,472 Ashford voters who had voted Leave in the Referendum.

He paid tribute to the many helpers from all political parties (and none) who had contribute­d to Ashford Out’s efforts to secure the 59.4% Leave vote in Ashford and Tenterden.
