Post office’s new counter
A new open-plan counter, which will make it easier for staff and customers to talk is part of a refurbishment planned for one village post office.
Aldington Post Office and store, in Claphill, is set to be modernised in July which will see the full-screen counter replaced and changes made to the entrance and retail area. The improvements are part of a £20m national investment scheme, with 3,000 crucial community branches across the UK in line for investment.
The Aldington branch will close for refurbishment on Tuesday, July 19 at 5.30pm and the revamped branch will re-open on Thursday, July 21 at 1pm.
During the refurbishment alternative venues include Mersham Post Office in The Street and Brabourne Lees Post Office in Lees Road will serve Aldington customers.
