Build your but­ter­fly brain­power

Kent Wildlife Trust is hold­ing a free course on but­ter­fly iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, on Satur­day from 1pm to 5pm in Sha­dox­hurst.

The event, part of the Ash­ford Mead­ows Project, has been funded by Biffa Award, a fund that aims to build com­mu­ni­ties through award­ing grants to projects across the UK, as part of the Land­fill Com­mu­ni­ties Fund.

The course will i nvolve both an in­door ses­sion and a visit to sur­round­ing farm­land and wood­lands.

Kent Wildlife Trust is also lead­ing a free guided walk through some of Sha­dox­hurst’s finest mead­ows on the same day from 6pm to 7.30pm, as part of Na­tional Mead­ows Day.

The event is also funded by Biffa Award. The Trust’s Camilla Black­burn, said: “This evening walk will take in sev­eral of the sites in­volved in the project and should pro­vide an amaz­ing wildlife spec­ta­cle.”

Walk­ers should meet at Green Farm, Duck Lane, Sha­dox­hurst TN26 1LT.
