An Ashford Borough Council spokesman said: “In modern-day local government, Ashford has to be more business-like, with commercial foresight and an innovative approach. That is the only way forward for the provision of local services and sustainable growth in the borough.”

“Since giving notice we have been working with the theatre group over the last few months to look at other locations for them, which sadly have not come to fruition as yet. Even though their tenancy has come to an end we are allowing them some extra time to assist them to move out and we hope they are able to find suitable premises elsewhere.”
