Learn how to be a perfect pet owner

-

Children in Ashford are being invited to enrol on a series of fun, free pet workshops this summer, which will educate them on how to care for pets responsibly.

The workshops, at Pets at Home on the Gallagher Retail Park off Norman Road in South Ashford, cover the adventures of small furry animal characters, reptiles and fish who will illustrate how to look after pets.

From finding out about the fascinating world of each pet, to learning about the five welfare needs – shelter, food and water, good health, appropriate company and the right living environment – children can interact with some pets in-store.

Store manager, Adam Wood, says: “It’s really important for families to be fully aware of what pet ownership involves. Each pet is different but they all need to be cared for properly in order to stay happy and healthy. We are very excited about welcoming children to My Pet Pals Summer Activity Club. It’s a great way for children to learn about the importance of responsible pet ownership, while having fun at the same time.”

After completing the workshops, each child will receive a workbook, certificate and stickers and pet promise card where they make a pledge to look after any pet they have according to their five welfare needs.
