Now it’s always time for tea

-

A new tearoom is opening in Park Mall next week, offering British-inspired treats.

The family-run shop, called The Little Teapot, has been set up in the previously vacant No.9 unit.

The owners, husband and wife Russell and Jacqui Geen, will officially open the store on Monday.

The store will offer quirky drinks such as Flowering Tea and speciality milkshakes, as well as hot lunchtime snacks.

Mr Geen said: “We are delighted to be adding to the number of local, independent businesses in the town centre and to be part of the growing buzz and the fresh, new independent offer the council has created in Park Mall.

“We have lived in Ashford for more than 10 years, so it seemed only fitting that we set up our business here, too.”

A preview will be held at the newly refurbished unit on Saturday, from noon to 4pm, offering the chance to sample the selection on offer before the official opening.

Cllr Graham Galpin said: “The Little Teapot is yet another example of a local business helping to rejuvenate Park Mall by bringing something new and different to Ashford town centre.

“We firmly believe that having a sophisticated, quality tea room in Park Mall will be another driver of footfall and will complement the growing offer.”

Additional seating will be available outside the tearoom, which will be open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 4pm.
