Ashford’s unique arts venue is celebrating it’s fifth birthday on Friday, July 22, by re-launching Made in Kent.
Revelation St Mary’s will be welcoming back the programme of up and coming local artists in association with Create Music Festival.
To celebrate it’s birthday, the town centre church venue will showcase Kent’s rising stars in a night-before warm up to the Victoria Park Festival, which takes place on Saturday, July 23.
Made in Kent will feature performances by pop duo Empathy Test, singer/songwriter Phoebe Warden and singer/songwriter O MATÆUS.
Anna Moulson, creative director, said: “Kent has some brilliant artists, we want artists in the area to feel Revelation is a place they can play, which is why Made in Kent was created.
“Artists were chosen because they shone at Create Festival 2015, or are strong female singersongwriter performers. Also because they were doing something different and brave with their music.
Chris Dixon, arts and cultural industries manager with Ashford Borough Council (ABC), added: “It’s great to see Revelation St Empathy Test Mary’s reach its fifth birthday, and celebrate becoming a great source of arts and culture for Ashford.
“Looking forward to the next five years, their Made in Kent programme is something special – a unique opportunity for local musicians, Create Festival, the Bandstand and Revelation working together to raise the game of the local music scene.”
