What a treat: Spa team celebrate their awards

It may have been the wettest June for nearly 20 years but for The Granary Spa in Great Chart near Ashford all that’s been flooding in is... awards!

The business could not have asked for a more exciting month as they were finalists in five business awards and received accolades in four out of the five.

Clare Singleton, the spa owner, said: “I am so proud of each and every one of my team - without them and our wonderful customers these four awards would not have been possible.”

The first two awards were presented at the Kent Health and Beauty Awards event held at the Great Danes Hotel in Maidstone on June 10. Sharleen Lind the spa manager won the gold award for Best Spa Therapist in Kent and the spa gained a silver award for Best Spa in Kent.

The next two awards were presented at t he Muddy Stilettos Awards event, which are awarded following a public vote. The spa won both Best Day Spa in Kent and Best Complementary Therapy Centre in Kent titles.

The spa was a finalist at the Kent Excellence in Business Awards, where Rosie Hemmings was one of the finalists in the Apprentice of the Year category.

Clare said: “This was a huge achievement not only for Rosie but also for the spa. Rosie joined as a weekend spa attendant, and within two years has completed her training in the spa and at college. She has now joined the team as a full-time Spa Therapist.”

Clare is no stranger to awards herself. Back in 2014 she was selected as the Kent Business Woman of the Year. She was nominated by a client for her determination, business growth and consistent focus on customer service which had seen her customer base more than double since the Granary Spa opened its doors in September 2012.

She has many years of experience in the holistic health and beauty industry and before moving to Great Chart had run the Revive Holistic Therapy Centre at the Stour Centre, Ashford.

The Granary Spa in Worten Lane is part of the Godinton House Estate and as its name suggests is located in a converted Victorian granary.
