Nothing like a bit of pampering…
Brave ladies who have battled breast cancer were pampered on Saturday in Charing Heath.
More than 40 women who have breast cancer, or who have been given the all-clear, enjoyed a wellbeing day organised by Ashford based charity Pink Ribbon Pilates, who provide free exercise classes for the women.
Instructors Jennie Lichfield and Jan Browman-Barnes put on the fundraiser to help towards the cost of renting their usual meeting spot at the Scout hut in Kennington.
The annual event at Tram Hatch Gardens was run by voluntary therapists, exercise coaches and speakers including a relationship counsellor and body language expert Robert Phipps.
The sun was out and people were able to take part in an outdoor session of tai chi, as well as have treatments and food provided by the ladies who attend the weekly class.
Organiser Jennie Lichfield said: “It went very well, it was a very nice retreat kind of day.
“It’s such a beautiful venue so all the women had a wonderful experience, all to raise around £2,000 for Pink Ribbon Pilates.
“All of the teachers gave their time for nothing.”
The charity has been going for three years and prides itself on reaching out to women who are at all stages of the cancer journey.
Classes take place every Monday at 11am in the Kennington Scout Hut in Faversham Road.
