Teachers right on the money with TV dance-off ad video
We all know that famous advert where a plump builder, a bodyguard and a man in hot pants and stilettos stage an epic dance-off in an underground car park.
Now a teacher from Ashford and a colleague have created their own version of the MoneySuperMarket video and it’s certainly gone down a storm.
Christopher Denney, from Repton Park and Cameron Davidson filmed the video to show to their Year 6 pupils at Grove Park Primary School, Sittingbourne, on their leaver’s day.
The video was watched in an assembly by 420 children and more than 100 parents.
Christopher, 27, said: “We did a Gogglebox-style show where children were watching the TV and when they were changing the channels, there were different programmes like EastEnders and Jeremy Kyle.
“Between the shows there were adverts. The children knew about the shows as they were in them, but they didn’t know about the adverts.
“There was a lot of laughter and screaming. It wasn’t silent in the hall!”
The video, which was filmed a few months ago, has been viewed more than 16,000 times on Facebook and has almost 300 shares and growing.
Christopher, who has been at the school for six years, added: “Cameron is moving to Singapore but he’s created a legacy.
“I’m not sure how we’re going to top it next year, but our new teacher is really enthusiastic so we should be able to come up with something!”
Mum Sharon Etherington said: “To end the year with a fantastic leaver’s assembly had all the children, parents and teachers in tears.
“However these tears of sadness turned to laughter when we watched the advert starring Chris and an equally amazing teacher, Cameron Davidson.
“The fun and commitment put into their ‘acting skills’ just about sums this double act up!”
