Ex-mayor: Closure is a disasterNib headline over two decks
Former Ashford mayor Bob Davidson was among the last batch of customers.
He was visiting the store with his wife Daphne to buy holiday clothes.
Mr Davidson said: “The closure of BHS is a disaster for this part of Ashford.
“The store met everyone’s needs and the crisis it’s in is down to bad management. It’s not the fault of the shop, or its staff.”
He added: “It’s getting more difficult to get everything you need in Ashford and I find you have to go out of town more now.”
