Butcher’s 50 years of experience in family firm

-

A butcher has marked a half century of offering the finest meat with friendly, personal service.

Trevor Marlow, 66, began his career as a butcher at the age of 15, and bought his own business seven years later.

His firm, Marlow Butchers in Beaver Lane, South Ashford is proud to offer British meat sourced locally from Ashford market, which is hung in the traditional way to bring out all the natural flavours.

Mr Marlow said: “I have been serving customers for so many years that I’ve seen three generations of the same family come to buy meat from Marlow Butchers.

“My sons Martin and Wayne, pride ourselves on offering customers a personal service and can cut meat to their specific requirements.”

Whether it’s a crown, cushion or saddle of lamb, or beef tied in the traditional way, Mr Marlow and his sons will be happy to oblige.

When Mr Marlow took over the shop in the early 1970s he says there were more than 20 independent butchers in town, but they have all disappeared... except his.

Mr Marlow’s offering of top quality, reasonably-priced meat, sold with a smile has proved a winning combination and Marlow Butchers has continued to prosper.

The family firm makes its own sausages and burgers, so customers can be assured they contain the best meat.

With Mr Marlow’s wife Linda doing the accounts it’s a butchers that has family at its heart and one that continues to serve the families in Ashford and the surrounding villages with passion and pride.
