Youngsters make the most of sporting opportunities

-

Mersham Primary School pupils enjoyed their special Sports and International Week.

The week was launched with Wet, Wild and Wacky Olympics, which involved the entire school completing a variety of exciting activities that mainly involved getting wet.

Each morning the House Captains ran a Wake ‘n’ Shake session to get the school ready for the day ahead.

Ahlberg Class (Year 4) took a trip to Tesco to discover more about how food travels from “Farm to Fork”.

With Rio 2016 just around the corner, the children focused on the geography, climate, sports, famous people, animals and artwork of Brazil.

Every day as many pupils as could ran a mile, four laps of the field and playground.

The week ended with sports day and the summer fair.

During sports day, the Sportsmanship Award was presented to Oliver Stickells for his outstanding contributions to school sport and going above and beyond expectations when it comes to helping and encouraging other.
