Award for care home worker
Neil Swithenbank, who works at Ashminster House Care Home in Willesborough has been crowned maintenance champion of the year for the South East in the Barchester Care Awards 2016.
His victory has won him a place in the national finals of the award scheme that recognises staff and volunteers who go the extra mile for the benefit of people living in Barchester care homes.
Ashminster House general manager Lynda Ellis, said: “This is an amazing achievement and the whole home is supporting Neil, who absolutely deserves this accolade.
“Neil always says he is ‘just doing his job’ but he goes way above the call of duty for the benefit of the people who live at Ashminster House. He is skilled at what he does and uses his initiative. I barely need to suggest something needs doing and it’s already done.”
