Six students make the grade

Ashford Karate Jutsu Kai had six good reasons to celebrate after returning from their trip to Sonderberg, Denmark, where they participat­ed in the annual summer camp hosted by associated founder, kancho Bernard Creton.

Thirteen of the club members attended the week-long intensive training course with six students achieving their next belt after a tough four-hour grading.

Ellie Miller, Eden English, James Burton and Paige Taylor all proved their worth and achieved their Top from left, back: Danny Smithers and James Burton; Front: Bobbie Garrett, Ellie Miller, Paige Taylor and Eden English. Early morning training in Sonderberg new grades, while clubmate Bobbie Garrett earned her 1st dan and Danny Smithers achieved the accolade of 2nd dan.

For anyone wishing to join Ashford Karate Jutsu Kai, beginners’ classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday at the Stour Centre, Ashford.
