Kevan James made a impressive return after injury and illness to finish 10th in the Romney Marsh 10k on Sunday.

The Ashford & District Road Running Club member covered the flat course in hot conditions in a time of 41 minutes and 21 seconds – first home in the male vet 55 category.

Stu Nunn, running as a male vet 40 for the first time, was 72nd in a time of 50.45.

Paul Moses was third overall in the latest Ashford Summer Series 5k at Victoria Park on Friday. He was also first in his age category, in a time of 20.32.

The club’s ladies had an impressive evening, Danyel Giles again achieving another personal best, finishing ninth overall and second in her age category in 22.05.

Gill O’Connor was one place behind and first in her age category in 22.17.

Christine Costiff was 15th in 22.54, Andrew Smith 20th (25.59) and Julie Foster 24th (27.22).

Dan Green finished fifth (38.43), the first male vet 40 home in the 10k run at the same venue.

Ashford club members competed in parkruns across the South East at the weekend. Scotty Lynch finished fifth (20.15) at Malling, Simon Jackson came home in 25.47 at Hastings, while three other of the club’s runners were at Bedgebury, near Tunbridge Wells.

Dean Bracken was sixth (19.53), Green seventh and first in his age category (19.58), while Giles came home in 25.18.
