Hopes of progress are in the balance
Kent play the final game of their NatWest T20 Blast campaign against Surrey at the Kia Oval on Friday night (6.30pm start) needing a win and for four other results to go their way to secure a last-eight place. Canterbury Cricket Week begins on Sunday with the visit of Gloucestershire to the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence (11am), in the Royal London One-Day Cup. The Spitfires also face their final, potentially crucial, 50-over game at Sussex on Tuesday (2pm) with their hopes of a quarter-final place on August 17-18 in the balance and probably needing two wins to secure a top-four place in South Group. They kept alive their hopes with a five-wicket win over Hampshire at Southampton on Tuesday.
