Reward for recycling
Residents at an environmentally friendly retirement housing complex were presented with an award for taking part a recycling project.
The Leslie Chalk Court retirement scheme in the town centre entered the Waste It’s Mine - It’s Yours project organised by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
The scheme boosted recycling rates, cut waste going to landfill, and improved the quality of recycled items to improve the quality of life for residents.
They were among the top three groups taking part in the scheme.
Project manager Anthea Rossouw said: “Everyone has really embraced the project.”
