Ashford School pupils are looking forward to studying medicine and maths at the country’s top universiti­es after an impressive set of results.

Nearly half of all exam pupils at the independen­t school, in East Hill, achieved the top grades required for elite universiti­es – A, B, B.

One pupil , Sam Zhang achieved an amazing four A*s and an A and will be heading to Cambridge University in September to study maths.

With four A*s under his belt, fellow classmate Toby Clifton is also taking up a place at Cambridge University to study natural sciences.

One pupil even juggled his studies with competing nationally on the cross-country field.

Euan Nicholls will be heading to Keele University to study medicine after achieving A*, A*, A ead Mike Buchanan said: “This is another set of impres- sive results for our students who come from varied academic background­s.

“The results are testament to their hard work and attitude – but also. to the ability of our teachersH to draw out the very best from our students.”
