Ashford Rail recorded a double six-rink mixed triples success at the weekend. They beat Hythe 106-95 at home on Sunday, following their 116-84 win at Cheriton the previous day. Tony Antino, Paul Robinson and skip Anne Rutland were the best rink against Hythe, with Janet Williams, Terry Andrews and skip Ian Larkin claiming the honours against Hythe, with a 26-6 win. Ashford Town lost 117-60 at Herne Bay in the East Kent Mixed Triples League – Sandie Smith, John Oliver and skip Tom Wiggins topping the rink scores. Town ladies were defeated in their Shepway League home match against Lyminge. Town won 93-92 in the Forest of Blean League at Boughton, with Peter Balson, Jeff Price and Wiggins the best rink performers. Tenterden lost their home friendly against Hastings. They went down by two shots 61-59 at Winchelsea the previous day – Doris Finnis, Roy Hook and Peter Hogarth winning 25-13. Hamstreet lost 87-62 at home to Staplecros­s in the Mermaid League. Ann Laidler, Ronnie Smith and Helene Ford were the top-winning rink with a 22-19 victory. Hamstreet went down 61-46 in a league match at Peasmarsh.
