ASHFORD SATURDAY LEAGUE: CHAMPIONS ARE HELD

Tom Scorer netted twice as Kennington hit four in 12 firsthalf minutes on their way to a 5-3 Premier Division win over Metrogas. They wasted no time in getting among the goals in their first home game of the season at the Julie Rose Stadium, as Liam Whiting and Joe Fisher sent them in 4-1 up at the break. Jordan King added No.5 with 25 minutes left. Rhys Morison and James Beaney netted for Lydd Town Reserves as they went down 4-2 at Stansfeld O&B. Rolvenden made it two wins out of two in Division 1 Central and East, with Tim Sims and Ben Charleswor­th on target in the 2-1 win at Sutton Athletic Reserves. Reece Palmer was another hattrick man as New Romney won 5-0 at South Darenth. Danny Taylor’s hat-trick and two more by Charlie Partridge ensured Willesboro­ugh Athletic’s good start to life in Division 2 Central and East with a 6-1 win over Sheppey United Reserves. Fergus Farmer earned Ashford FC their first point in a 1-1 draw at West Farleigh and New Romney Reserves won 4-1 at home to Larkfield and New Hythe Wanderers.

The league are looking to recruit a results co-ordinator to join the volunteer operationa­l team. It is essential the co-ordinator is available on Saturday afternoons to take results from clubs. Previous experience in football administra­tion is not essential as guidance will be provided. Champions Wittersham were held on the opening day of the Premier Division season.

Carl Davey, Lucas Zon and Nathan Sherwood scored their goals in a 3-3 draw against The Three Mariners.

Jed Amor and Dan Roberts helped the visitors earn a point.

Levii Loyza scored a hat-trick as Bromley Green started with a 5-3 win at Ashford Dynamo.

Jordan Griffin and James HaylockAsh­down also struck for Green, with Ryan Carter’s treble in vain for Dynamo.

Tenterden Town 1sts beat Lydd Town 3rds 4-0 thanks to Jack McKenzie (2), Lee Keeler and Lewis Weston. Four games in Division 1 produced 28 goals. Tom Coleman’s double helped Smeeth & Brabourne win 7-1 at AFC Ashford Athletic.

Smeeth took a 10th-minute lead after a fiery start that saw challenges go in from both sides.

Bobby Godden beat the offside trap from Jon Philo’s cross and lobbed the goalkeeper for the equaliser but Smeeth went straight back in front and pulled clear in the second half. Woodchurch won by the same 7-1 scoreline at Biddenden.

Anthony Bodle scored inside five minutes, with Bill Beaney, Tom Bugden and Tom Barnes extending the lead.

Barnes’ second and a double from substitute Julian Collett completed the rout.

Rolvenden Reserves won 5-3 at league new boys Folkestone Invicta Disability.

Ryan Kislingbur­y scored twice on his Rolvenden debut, including a tap-in for the opener, with Simon Walters, a Rob Andrews penalty and Nick Stickles adding to their tally.

Invicta twice fought back from a goal down as the first half ended 2-2, Steve Jenner and Elliot Symonds’ spot-kick sendng them in level at the interval.

Three goals in 20 minutes at the start of the second half took the game away from Invicta before Damian Barnett struck from a freekick.

Both sides had a man sent off late in the second half.

Ryan Strand’s hat-trick led Kennington Reserves to a 4-0 victory at Hythe Grovellers.

Mike Hodges was the other scorer.
