Printers roll out schools festive fundraising scheme
A town centre printing firm is inviting schools to join its Christmas scheme, which uses children’s artwork to help generate funds for schools.
Staff at Print Junction in Drum Lane have been taking orders from as far afield as Scotland and Cornwall, printing children’s work on Christmas and thankyou cards, calendars and mugs.
From every sale the company donates £1 to boost the coffers of the school or nursery, with some schools able to collect up to £500.
Boss Sonja Adams said: “The response to the scheme last year was good, but we were really just piloting the scheme and getting all our systems right.
“This year we are going national. We have invested heavily in a new software system, new website and a rebrand. So far this has paid off, as sign-ups from schools are coming in at a very good rate. We have had schools from as far afield as Scotland, Wales and Cornwall registering their interest.
“We like the community interest aspect of the scheme. It raises valuable funds for primary schools and nurseries.”
Mrs Adams said the scheme was already proving a hit with parents and grandparents.
She added: “We provide the school with all the material it will need to participate.
“The project also gives the children a real sense of pride and achievement in their artwork.”
