Campaigners aim to clean up the town

-

South Ashford residents took part in a litter pick as part of the Keep Ashford Clean campaign.

The team started at the Riverside Inn pub near the Designer Outlet and collected 15 black sacks of rubbish and several large items in one morning.

Ashford Borough councillor Jenny Webb, who represents Norman ward, attended the event. She said: “I am wholeheartedly behind Ashford Borough Council’s anti-litter campaign.

“The easy thing is to keep complaining while the hardest part is to actually get motivated to do something about it within the communities.

“I have been extremely delighted with the support of residents who turned out to take part in our first but by no means last organised litter pick.

“It was a fun and productive morning which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Let’s get Ashford Clean.”
