Close shave bolsters charity total

Littlestone Warren Golf Club raised more than £2,000 after organising a charity event in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

Stephen Pope won the event, with funds boosted by sponsorship, an auction and member John Harman volunteering to have his moustache shaved off – alone raising a total of £850, which will be divided between prostate amd breast cancer charities.

The club have always supported a charity in captain’s year but this was the first time they have held a specific event on one day. A total of £2,029 was raised for Prostate Cancer UK.
