Jim Brazil inspired Appledore to another victory as the Smugglers moved to within three points of leaders Ashford Cavaliers with a 3-0 win against Charing Reserves.

Brazil gave Appledore the lead midway through the firsthalf, before doubling the visitors’ advantage scoring straight from a corner kick at the start of the second half. His late corner was headed in by team-mate Fletcher Kipps.

Mersham Reserves beat a depleted Givaudan 5-0 at the Ridge. Mersham raced into a 4-0 half-time lead when Jack Griffin’s early brace was added to by strikes from Adam Fairclough and Adam Tickner. Brad Webber added a fifth in the second half.

United were 2-0 ahead at the break thanks to goals from Luke Harmer and Dion Fitzgerald. Brad Freund added a third at the start of the second-half before Pilgrims fought back with two Matt Jackson strikes to make it 3-2. Freund added a second for United, while Jackson scored his and Pilgrims’ third in the 90th minute.

Ashstone Galacticos scored 10 for the second successive league game as they thrashed bottom of the table Troggs Reserves 10-0.

Sam Wilson and Josh Knight both netted trebles in the win.

Tom Wilmshurst scored two second-half goals to help Fox Sunday up to fifth as they beat Stour Valley 3-0. Matt Dorsett had put the Fox in front.

Bromley Green beat Ashford Spartans 3-0, with to strikes from Cameron Lumsden, Levii Loyza and Kurtis Hooper.
