Apprentice bid by young farmer

An Ashford woman is facing nine other young farmers in a battle to win a £25,000 job in the first ever Farmers Apprentice competition.

Camilla Hyselden-Ashby, 24, is the only contestant from Kent to face other finalists from across the country in a set of tough farming challenges on a week-long bootcamp at Bishop Burton College, in Yorkshire.

The winner will be crowned Farmers Apprentice 2016 and land a one-year, £25,000 assistant farm manager apprenticeship with top farming business Farmcare.

The first three episodes are already available to watch on the Farmers Weekly website and the winner will be announced on Friday, November 4.
