Pupils pull together

-

Keen pupils from the North School in Willesborough took part in an indoor rowing challenge for charity.

Over two weeks businesses, schools and gyms took part in Dandelion Time’s indoor Rowathon event. Taking inspiration from the Olympics it aimed to ‘row to Rio’.

The row for the charity, which deals with children and families struggling with trauma, was launched with a Brazilian fundraising dinner at Frankie’s Farmshop in Staplehurst with food from sponsor Cook Food.

The North School team rowed 98 miles, helping towards the final 5,135 miles collectively rowed by the teams.

The event ended on Friday October 7, where the teams were just a few hundred miles short of the distance to Rio.

The Rowathon has raised £14,000.

To donate to the Rowathon, Text ROWA16£1 or ROWA16£5 to 70070.
