Hard work paying off for golden girl Sienna

Sienna Bates won gold at the South East Biathlon under-12 championship at Medway Park in Gillingham. The 11-year-old Ashford School pupil, and a member of the Pentathlon team, now represents the region in the finals in Birmingham next month. She finished with a total of 2,546 points, 27 ahead of runnerup Lily Meers from Bromley High School. Mum Gina said: “Having lost her dad when she was only five and her best friend Abbie Mifsud at the age of six, Sienna is a real inspiration to others that with hard work and the right support she can hopefully go all the way.”
