Santa gets busy in the kitchen for festive fair

-

Plenty of early yuletide cheer will be on offer at the Pilgrims Hospice Christmas fair this Saturday.

The free to enter event is being held for the first time at the Towers School in Faversham Road, Kennington, from 10.30am to 3.30pm, and will include more than 60 stalls, as well as a Santa’s grotto.

Generous local businesses have been thanked by the charity for supporting the event with prize donations which visitors will have the chance to win.

These include Z and B Vintners of Lenham which has donated 600 bottles of a limited release dark ale to Pilgrims Hospices, which currently retails at over £6 per bottle. Anyone over the age of 18 will have the opportunity to win one or more of these in a game at the fair.

Ashford Designer Outlet has also donated a £100 voucher for the Christmas draw and Folkestone Sports Centre has given a two prizes for skiing and tobogganing sessions.

And Father Christmas has been busy helping Ginny Taylor, a volunteer, make some of her fabulous gingerbread trees and fairy houses which be on sale at the event.

Father Christmas said: ““As well as helping to make gingerbread for the fair, I am looking forward to spending the day there too with a couple of my elves. So bring your children to visit me at the fair, and sample some of the delicious food on offer.”
