The Pilgrims Hospices lottery is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
And this week Raffles, the charity’s mascot bear, has been spotted around post boxes in east Kent encouraging supporters to hurry and send back their Pilgrims Hospices 20th anniversary draw entries.
The draw is closing in a couple of weeks’ time and he wants everyone to have a chance to win some prizes in time for Christmas.
There’s a top prize of £2,000 up for grabs as well as other cash prizes.
Shiralee Riddell, Pilgrims Hospices’ l ottery manager said: “Hundreds of people have already taken part.
“We are always overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity and we’ve had a wonderful time catching up with so many of our Pilgrims supporters during the week as they get in touch to buy tickets.”
Each lottery booklet contains a dozen £1 tickets and that £12 could provide a patient being cared for over the festive period with one of Pilgrims Hospices special Christmas meals at its sites in Ashford, Canterbury and Thanet.
Shiralee added: “Our vision here at Pilgrims Hospices is of a community where people with a terminal illness and their family and friends are supported and empowered to live well in mind and body until the very last moment of their life.
“With the community behind us, together we can really make a difference.”
All tickets need to be returned by Monday, November 28 with the draw held on Monday, December 5. Winners will receive their prizes in time for Christmas.
