Hitting the right note for charity
mmilehamchappell@thekmgroup.co.uk An Ashford based music programme has released two charity singles ahead of Christmas.
The singles have been released by members of Local Aid, an initiative which helps raise awareness of unsigned music acts while helping people in need.
Two groups of artists have recorded covers of the songs ‘It Must Have Been Love’ by Roxette in aid of the military charity Help For Heroes, and ‘No More I Love Yous’ by Annie Lennox to help Anxiety UK.
The Roxette track was produced by Paul West at Awesome Source Music in New Ash Green, while the Annie Lennox song was produced by Charlie Creese at Magpie Studios in Bethersden.
Backing tracks for both recordings were created by the ‘Local Aid All Star Band’, featuring Simon Jackson from Caution Horses on drums, Damo Fawsett from Big River and Dirty Little Secret on electric guitar, Joe Martin on bass and Andrew Hedges fon keyboard.
James Vince, the music promoter behind Local Aid: “I chose ‘It Must Have Been Love’ as I wanted to do something for Help For Heroes and I thought the song would be a good fit as lots of people have lost loved ones from our armed forces in combat.
“Plus I wanted to do something to help Anxiety UK as well so I decided to release both tracks together.”
Both are available for free download at localaid2012.bandcamp.com with donation links to each charity.
