Kentish Express Ashford & District

Have a go if you’re brave enough

-

The Kentish Express Charity of the Year is seeking height-happy daredevils to take part in an adrenalinefuelled challenge.

Every year, Kentish Express picks an Ashford Charity of the Year to champion and 2017 is the turn of East Kent Hospitals Charity Dementia Appeal.

The organisation is now looking for people to take part in the KM Abseil Challenge on their behalf.

Victoria Adley from the charity said: “We’re really excited to launch the KM Abseil Challenge.

“We’d really like KE readers to support East Kent Hospitals Charity Dementia Appeal by taking part in this challenge.

“The appeal was launched to raise £500,000 to improve dementia services in our hospitals.

“This includes anything from smallscale purchases and improving the patient experience on wards to plans to refurbish day rooms and patient areas off the wards.

“If you work in the NHS or are a sup- porter, use discount code NHSVIP.”

Those who dare to drop for the KM Abseil Challenge 2017 will scale over 100ft at Thomas Place in Maidstone.

The annual challenge event raises thousands of pounds for vital charitable organisations and provides the perfect setting for team-building and networking exercises.

There will be two abseil challenges taking place from Thomas Place in 2017. The first is on Sunday, March 19 and the second in November.

Charities wanting to use the event to raise funds for their cause should complete the Team Up with KM page on the website www.kmcharityteam. co.uk.
