New Romney make last eight

Jack Moran and Warren Smith earned New Romney a place in the quarterfinals of the Bill Manklow Inter-Regional Cup, scoring the goals in a 2-0 win over Hawkinge Town on Saturday. The third round tie was one of few games to survive the first weather-hit programme of the season and New Romney now travel to Division 1 West side Otford United next month. Moran put New Romney ahead at half-time, netting against his former club with a well-struck effort before Smith was denied a second soon after by the woodwork. The visitors created several chances as well in the second half, before Smith doubled the lead late on with a near-post header. Lydd Town Reserves lost 3-1 at Faversham Strike Force in the Premier Division –Tom Morgans scored their goal.
