Helen Weeden broke her own half-marathon record as she led home the Ashford & District Road Running Club quartet at Worthing on Sunday.

She covered the fast, flat, course along the seafront at the West Sussex seaside resort in 1hr 57min 18sec, finishing 874th out of a field of more than 1600, and 37th in her age category.

Eddie Rodger was close behind (1:58.57), with Steve Hickman coming home in 2:01.19 and Sue Reader, now in training for the Brighton Marathon in April, stopping the clock at 2:05.37.

Mark Carlton and Stu Nunn both set personal best times in the Deal Half-Marathon as they prepare for the same race

New Beccehamia­n 3 Dartford villages of Betteshang­ewr, Sutton, Ripple, Langdon and Martin Mill in a time of 1:46.53 to finish 106th.

Nunn knocked seven and half minutes of his own time, coming home 114th in 1:48.15, with Rhian Shrimplin 153rd (1.53.51).

Ashford AC pair Marshall Smith and Ahferom Goitom were second and fourth in the latest Ashford parkrun on Saturday.

Smith came home in 17.38, behind winner Niall Stewart (16.44), with Goitom crossing the line in 19.38.

Paul Moses was first Ashford & District RRC man home, in fifth place (1st MV50) in 19.30.

Other finishers were Paul Brasington 14th (21.27), Terry Sellen 16th (21.35), Dean Bracken 19th (22.24), Richard Baker 20th (22.35), Mark Attenborou­gh 21st (22.41), William Whittingto­n 37th (24.34), Danyel Carter 61st (27.37), Sue Reader 62nd (27.37) and Julie Foster (33.18).
