‘Beginning to turn the corner’
Despite the challenges facing the social care, Kent County Council believes the sector is beginning to turn a corner.
It has revealed its new strategy for social care until 2021, where it will focus on promote wellbeing and independence, supporting people who want to live in their own homes for longer.
Cllr Paul Carter said: “We have had to deliver extraordinary efficiencies in the way we deliver services and strike a tough bargain with care providers.
“They have responded extremely well.
“Most accept we have done as much as we can to support them.
“It has been tough for domiciliary and residential care providers which is why the Government has made it a top priority to put money into social care and get a strong growing social care market against rising demand.”
