No charges after gun raid

Three people who were arrested on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons have been told they will not face any police charges

Armed officers raided an address in the Eastry Close and Matfield Close area of Stanhope in November.

Two men aged 39 and 54, and a 41-year-old woman were held and bailed until Monday this week, but were told they would not be charged.

A police spokesman said all three have been “refused charge” after an “extensive” investigation.
