Ashford’s John Smith had a session in daylight at Hythe to land seven tasty plaice to 32cm. The rays are now searching out the crabs that are beginning to moult on the north Kent coast with some nice fish from Reculver. The Southern Circuit anglers were at Dungeness for their latest match and saw some good weights brought to the scales. Robert Bates was top rod with 14lb 15oz, followed by Sam Collier (14lb 3oz) and Dave Wood-Brignall (12lb 11oz). Dabs, flounders doggies and pouting were caught. Down on Folkestone pier, the plaice are lining up to be caught, with father and son team Rowan and Melvin Lee landing 31 to 2.5lb. The Seabrook Angling club’s latest match at Hythe saw lots of plaice brought to the scales. The Hythe Madagascar match on the Princess Parade was a tight encounter with Dave Wood-Brignall finding plaice, dabs and pouting for a winning 10lb 3oz. Close on his heels was Mark Howard (8lb 4oz) and Brian Smith (6lb 9oz).
