Lee Buckman finished eighth and claimed two trophies in the VTTA 30-mile event on the Hamstreet bypass on Sunday. He clocked 1hr 11min 29sec, winning Ashford Wheelers’ awards for fastest scratch and handicap times. Buckman was one of nine club members taking part. Andy Branson was 17th (1:14.03), Dave Hampton 28th (1:15.03), Marcus Claydon 29th (1:17.50), Stewart King 31st (1:17.57), Rob Sparks 47th (1:27.23), Paul Britton 48th (1:27.46) and Lesley Newman 53rd (1:45.26). Sam Robinson suffered a puncture and didn’t finish.
