Eurostar offer just the ticket for fundraisers

-

Charity supporters signing up for the KM Big Bike Ride could be planning a European minibreak later in the year.

Organisers of the major cycling challenge have announced the biggest individual fundraiser will win a pair of Eurostar tickets to the destination of their choice.

Riders can raise sponsorship money for their favourite good cause as they tackle one of two circular routes on Sunday, April 23, both setting out from Betteshanger Country Park, near Deal.

Melanie Rogers, of Vattenfall, a key partner of the event for the fifth year running, said: “This year there will be a 100k route for the hardcore cyclists and a shorter route at 50k for people that just want a nice day out.”

Lisa Craig, from the KM Charity Team, which runs the adrenaline challenge, said: “Cyclists can take part just for fun or to support a charity close to their hearts. But why not try and raise some funds? You might just surprise yourself and win the Eurostar prize.”

Electronic chip timing will capture the results of the ride and a sportive photograph taken of each participant in action.

Key partner Locks of Sandwich Cycles has designed both cycle routes and will provide a bike maintenance service for issues arising on the day. Other supporters of the event include Benenden Hospital Trust and Bike Tart.

Participants will receive a £5 discount if using the code KMPRBB17 when booking. Riders aged 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
