Chocolatier creates adult Easter treats

-

An Ashford-based chocolate company has made a selection of ‘adult’ Easter eggs for a national retailer.

Chocolatier Artisan du Chocolat has supplied the eggs to Marks and Spencer for the Easter weekend.

The factory has been based in Long Barrow on Ashford’s Orbital Retail Park for eight years, and has created four Easter eggs for M&S.

The range features the ‘which came first’ milk and dark chocolate chicken and egg, with a golden chicken encased in an Ecuadorian milk and Dominican Republic dark chocolate shell.

Wine from Tenterden’s Chapel Down vineyard is used to create the truffles inside the elongated teardrop egg, made with Ecuadorian chocolate. The range also features the use of dark chocolate ganache and salted caramel and ganache mini eggs.

Anne Weyns at Artisan du Chocolat, said: “We’re starting to develop for Easter next year now.

“We have specialised in creating sweet treats for over 15 years and are so pleased to be working with M&S again this Easter.”

Many of the creations are finished by hand, and this year’s range includes a gradient of metallic colours and an edible gold-leaf decoration.
