Appalled by danger junction proposals

I read with interest your article about the problems of the A2070 ‘death trap’ junction (‘Accusation of money over safety at problem junction’, KE, April 20).

We have lived in Sevington for 40 years and Ashford Borough Council has never considered the residents of our village when any plans for developmen­t have been put forward.

We are appalled that moving the bollards to 64 Church Road/Barrey Road is even up for discussion. Residents fought for ages to get them installed and will never give them up without a fight.

ABC should have insisted that the stores – ie, TKMaxx, Smyths, Boots, Dunelm, B&M, etc, etc, on Ashford Retail Park put money aside for a proper junction before they were allowed to open their stores.

Traffic lights or a roundabout are only a couple of solutions. Another would be a proper slip road so traffic can join the
