Showing off with pop-up performances

An Ashford shopping centre’s annual pop-up fashion show held last Saturday was a roaring success with most of the fashion outlets taking part.

County Square centre manager Frances Burt said: “The event has been taking place for nearly 10 years and is aimed at not only drawing people into the centre but at providing an opportunity for shops to show their clothes.”

Pop-up performances took place on Saturday in various locations throughout the centre with models showing off the latest fashions from County Square’s retailers. These included outfits from New Look, Next, Designers at Debenhams, River Island, Peacocks, M&S, Select, Bon Marche and Yours.

A New Look spokesman said: “It was really good for showcasing our clothes. We had a lot of sales after the show with a lot of them being the new stock showcased, so it definitely boosted our sales.”

Twenty-five shoppers were also given envelopes with the chance to win a voucher worth £25 at each show.
