Singing and danc­ing to cel­e­brate new mu­sic stu­dio

Goat Lees Pri­mary School in Boughton Aluph has opened its new mu­sic stu­dio.

The build­ing was con­structed dur­ing last year’s sum­mer hol­i­days and now the fin­ish­ing touches have been com­pleted with the ad­di­tion of an out­door stage and in­ter­nal acous­tic pan­els.

The stu­dio was of­fi­cially opened last Fri­day by the Mayor of Ash­ford, Cllr Ge­orge Koowa­ree.

Pupils from Goat Lees gave an in­au­gu­ral per­for­mance with in­stru­men­tal pieces, danc­ing, singing and po­etry.

Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Kent County Coun­cil, Ash­ford Bor­ough Coun­cil and the school com­mu­nity at­tended.

The build­ing was con­structed by Green Mod­u­lar and the stage area erected by Wild­wood In­stal­la­tions.

The build­ing was project man­aged by Cllr Win­ston Michael and Keith Dunker­ley who are school gov­er­nors.

The de­sign is in keep­ing with the school’s award-win­ning eco friendly con­struc­tion.

Head­teacher Teresa Adams, said: “We are de­lighted with the new stu­dio, it will greatly en­hance our Per­form­ing Arts cur­ricu­lum, and the chil­dren very much en­joy us­ing this fab­u­lous ad­di­tion to our won­der­ful new school.

“We are very grate­ful for the in­valu­able sup­port we have re­ceived.”
