Singing and dancing to celebrate new music studio
Goat Lees Primary School in Boughton Aluph has opened its new music studio.
The building was constructed during last year’s summer holidays and now the finishing touches have been completed with the addition of an outdoor stage and internal acoustic panels.
The studio was officially opened last Friday by the Mayor of Ashford, Cllr George Koowaree.
Pupils from Goat Lees gave an inaugural performance with instrumental pieces, dancing, singing and poetry.
Representatives from Kent County Council, Ashford Borough Council and the school community attended.
The building was constructed by Green Modular and the stage area erected by Wildwood Installations.
The building was project managed by Cllr Winston Michael and Keith Dunkerley who are school governors.
The design is in keeping with the school’s award-winning eco friendly construction.
Headteacher Teresa Adams, said: “We are delighted with the new studio, it will greatly enhance our Performing Arts curriculum, and the children very much enjoy using this fabulous addition to our wonderful new school.
“We are very grateful for the invaluable support we have received.”
