Lee Buckman was Ashford Wheelers’ best placed rider in their first 10mile time trial on the Hamstreet Bypass. He finished third in 22.07, with clubmate Andy Branson immediately behind him (22.29).
Steve Clarke (22.53), Colin Woolard (23.35), Andy Robinson (23.42), Trevor Bridge (24.07), Merv Claydon (24.41), Matt Clark (25.16), Andy Cornwell (27.00), Paul Britton (27.12), Alec Mayes (27.44), Don Dewar (28.51) and Lesley Newman 30.50. Stewart King won the Low Gear event in a time of 26.27, followed by Mike Newman (26.44), Rob Wood (28.34) and Rob Sparks 28.55. Matt Elston (29th) and Merv Claydon (37th) competed in the Criterium at the Cyclopark in Gravesend. Andy Branson and Matt Elston rode in the Catford CC 10 mile TT on the A20 on Saturday. Branson finished 33rd in 22.27, three seconds and one place ahead of Elston. Merv Claydon rode in the East Sussex CA 25 mile TT on the A22, between Uckfield and Boships Roundabout near Hailsham producing a personal best time of 1:02.15.
