Buck­man is third fastest

Lee Buck­man was Ash­ford Wheel­ers’ best placed rider in their first 10mile time trial on the Ham­street By­pass. He fin­ished third in 22.07, with club­mate Andy Bran­son im­me­di­ately be­hind him (22.29).

Steve Clarke (22.53), Colin Woolard (23.35), Andy Robin­son (23.42), Trevor Bridge (24.07), Merv Clay­don (24.41), Matt Clark (25.16), Andy Corn­well (27.00), Paul Brit­ton (27.12), Alec Mayes (27.44), Don De­war (28.51) and Les­ley New­man 30.50. Ste­wart King won the Low Gear event in a time of 26.27, fol­lowed by Mike New­man (26.44), Rob Wood (28.34) and Rob Sparks 28.55. Matt El­ston (29th) and Merv Clay­don (37th) com­peted in the Cri­terium at the Cy­clopark in Gravesend. Andy Bran­son and Matt El­ston rode in the Cat­ford CC 10 mile TT on the A20 on Satur­day. Bran­son fin­ished 33rd in 22.27, three sec­onds and one place ahead of El­ston. Merv Clay­don rode in the East Sus­sex CA 25 mile TT on the A22, be­tween Uck­field and Bo­ships Round­about near Hail­sham pro­duc­ing a per­sonal best time of 1:02.15.
