Welcome the sunrise with some tai chi

-

A special fundraising meditation session is taking place in Ashford later this month.

Jennie Lichfield, owner of Liberty Wellbeing, is hosting the Dawn Chorus meditation and tai chi session at Little Burton Farm on Sunday, June 25 for the Pink Ribbon Pilates charity.

But this is no ordinary session as it is taking place at dawn.

Liberty Wellbeing is a mindfulness and wellbeing company that promotes the benefits of meditation, yoga and other Buddhist disciplines that encourage inner peace and a quiet mind.

Jennie is holding the session to raise money for the Pink Ribbon Pilates, which is based in Kennington and holds free pilates classes for women who are fighting breast cancer.

This one-off midsummer session will take place next to Little Burton Lake and attendees will take part in a qi gong session of tai chi, which involves breathing and moving the qi (life force) around the body as well as a silent meditation session in the calm of the lake surroundings.

Dawn Chorus is suitable for people of all ages and abilities, the session itself is free but as it is a fundraising event there is a suggested £5 donation to Pink Ribbon.

If you are interested in Dawn Chorus, the class will be meeting at Little Burton shops at 5am before walking to the location.
