Paraglider hits power cables

A paraglider sparked small fires after he collided with power cables.

He struck the cables on take-off at Church Road, Smeeth, on Saturday afternoon.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “On arrival crews found the paraglider released and uninjured, although his canopy was still entangled resulting in small fires. Once the power cables had been isolated crews extinguished the fires.”
